Friendster Names Ex-AOL Executive VP of Sales
Friendster today announced that it has named Charles Barrett as Vice President of Sales, effective immediately. Charlie will oversee all aspects of advertising sales. His first initiatives will include building a world-class national ad sales team and creating new revenue producing programs. In addition, he will also be responsible for ad operations and will strive to insure the Friendster network offers marketing partners a robust platform for delivering rich, measurable and highly efficient advertising and promotional campaigns.
Charlie joins Friendster from AOL, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Sales for AOL Media Networks, overseeing the Western Region. Charlie has more than 15 years marketing and media experience. Prior to joining AOL in 2002, he was Yahoo’s Executive Director of Sales for the Northwest Region. Charlie joined Yahoo! in 1999 through the Company’s acquisition of GeoCities and was formerly Vice President, West Coast Region for GeoCities.
