FeedBurner Snags Yahoo Network Products Director of Business Development
FeedBurner has announced the expansion of its offices to San Francisco and an ex-Yahoo’er who has moved on to become the FeedBurner Vice President of Business Development, Strategic Partnerships.
Don Loeb, former Director of Business Development for Yahoo!’s Network Products, has joined FeedBurner in the Vice President of Business Development, Strategic Partnerships position and will be leading partnership development efforts from the San Francisco office.
“Our business development and executive teams spend a great deal of time on both coasts and will continue to do so,” said Steve Olechowski, cofounder and Chief Operations Officer. “With our growth and critical mass of publisher feeds, the new office and additional staff will be positioned to better service our partners and publishers in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle.”
Don Loeb notes on his blog post Moving On:
the experiences i had during my three years at yahoo were some of the best of my career. i was primarily focused on RSS, community / blogging, and yahoo’s overall and social media efforts / strategies. i worked on some fantastic products including my yahoo, yahoo groups, yahoo 360, etc., helped acquire blo.gs and searchfox, and participated in our cross-company social media initiatives. and, most importantly, i worked with incredibly talented people, many of whom are now lifelong friends. i’ll miss everyone (too many to list), but I’m positive that we’ll continue to work together in some capacity.
Barry Schwartz at Search Engine Watch notes “This adds to the list of Yahoo executives leaving Yahoo over the past year or so. We watched Geoff Ralston, Rob Solomon, Toni Schneider, David Mandelbrot and John Glick all leave Yahoo for other companies.”
