In their latest marketing trends survey, Campaigner revealed that online retailers are aware of the slowing economy. Thus, they are looking to email marketing as their top means of customer acquisition in the coming year. The survey also reveals that they are focusing on leveraging welcome emails for increased consumer engagement, acquisition, and conversions.

The survey also points out the following:

  • Nearly two-thirds send a welcome email to new subscribers within 24 hours
  • Nearly one-third of new subscribers make a first purchase within 48 hours of subscribing
  • Yet, over half of marketers feel they are not making the most of their welcome email
