Buffer Adds Google Analytics Integration and More to ‘Buffer For Business’ Plans

Buffer, a wildly successful social media scheduling platform, recently launched some powerful new features to their fledgling Buffer For Business plan.

Buffer For Business is a more robust version of their social media scheduling software, with key features being team collaboration and advanced analytics capabilities. Buffer Co-Founder, Leo Widrich, describes the business version in full detail in his interview with SEJ Editor Kelsey Jones.

In an effort to make Buffer For Business even more useful for campaign managers, they have added Google Analytics integration. On the Link Shortening page under the Settings menu you will find the option to set your own UTM tracking parameters. With that option turned on you can define your own campaign parameters, and then you will be able to see on your Google Analytics dashboard how much traffic you are receiving from social media links shared via Buffer.

Buffer has always been exceptional at tracking analytics for clicks and retweets, but now they’ve added the ability to track social media follower growth. Not only will you be able to see how your following is growing, but it will be tracked against how often you tweet and the amount of engagement you’re receiving. With these metrics you will have more insight into how the content you’re sharing is affecting your audience growth.

Another feature they have added to Buffer For Business is the ability to pick specific date periods for your analytics. Just like in Google Analytics where you can view data for a specific date range, you will now be able to do this when viewing your Buffer analytics. Similarly, if you just want to see the analytics for an individual day you will now be able to do that as well. Clicking on a date will allow you to see your performance for that day, including what was shared and the specific metrics for each update.

With all of these analytics now at your fingertips, Buffer is also offering the ability to export them for easy sharing with clients and team members. One of the things that makes Buffer as successful as they are is that they never stop listening to their users. If there are any other new features you would like to see added you can always tweet at them. You’ll more than likely get a timely response.
