Just in time for the roll out of iPhone iOS4, Microsoft has updated its Bing iPhone app to include two new useful features – enhanced social integration with Twitter and Facebook and Visual Scanning.
The enhanced social feature of Bing iPhone app now lets you connect your Facebook and Twitter accounts and see combined updates from your friends right inside the Bing app. That means your phone will no longer open up a new Safari Window to see these updates.
In addition, when you search for something using Bing app for iPhone, you will be given with search results not only coming from the web but also from relevant updates culled from your social network. And when you find a search result that you like to share with friends, you can easily do so via Facebook, Twitter or email.
As for the visual scanning feature, Bing for iPhone now lets you scan barcodes of any products you find and the app will provide you with descriptions, reviews, prices as well as link to merchants where you can purchase the product quickly.
Microsoft also improved the Movies section of Bing for iPhone which now gives you more video and trailers as well as easily accessible showtimes. The Shopping section was also enhanced to let you find products quickly and easily.
