Google Makes Local Mobile Search More Useful

Local mobile search providers should start worrying now as Google continues to improve its Google Mobile Search facility. Posted just now is a pretty useful feature that can come in handy for those who are travelling to other countries – mobile search integration with Desktop Google Maps.The new feature now lets you mark down places that you are about to visit before you leave your home using your desktop. To do this, just sign-in with your Google account and visit Google maps. Search for various places in the country where you are going and start marking off these places.

Now, upon arriving to your destination, you can fire up your mobile phone and access the map with starred places you created while you were still at hope.  There’s a link in your Google Maps called – “starred places”. From there you can click on the different places to find its specific location.

What’s even more good is the fact that this feature now includes the recently introduced places pages for Google Maps. Hence you will have information on localized and specific information about different these places.

In addition, the new Google Mobile Search interface also features “Browse Categories”. This makes it easier to search for specific places catering to different tourists’ purposes.
