Google Adsense Rolls Out Video Units

Google Adsense has launched video units, a new advertising unit that can be embedded on Adsense publishers’ sites/blogs. These video units are relevant video contents with either companion or overlay ads which are not obtrusive and highly relevant to the contents of the publishers’ sites/blogs.

YouTube will be supplying the video contents coming from the millions of videos uploaded in its portal  and from other content partners such as TV Guide, Broadband Expert Village, Extreme Elements, to name a few.

Individual Adsense third party partners will have the option to choose categories of videos, select video content from individual YouTube partners or have their site automatically targeted with relevant video contents.

The Adsense video units are highly customizable. Adsense publishers will have the option to modify the theme and layout of the embedded video player to match the overall theme of their sites/blogs. I will have to commend Google for this feature since this will certainly encourage more publishers to implement video units.

Inside Adsense also announced that the new video units is already available on the Adsense setup tab. But I don’t see it yet in my Adsense account yet.

In the meantime, you might want to check out these videos at YouTube:
