Microsoft Webmaster Tools Get Out of Beta with New Features

It maybe a bit late for Microsoft, but still for those who have been trying to master a work around into getting their sites to the top of the Live Search results pages will be glad to know that Microsoft’s Webmaster Tools is finally out of beta. And with it comes several new features that would surely be of big help to SEO workers optimizing their sites on Live Search.

First among these new features is the “Crawl Issue”. The Live Search Webmaster Tools now display common issues that the Webmaster Tools encounter when crawling your sites.

  • File Not Found (404)
  • Blocked by REP
  • Long Dynamic URLs
  • Unsupported Content-Types

The Webmaster Tools will give the URL and the corresponding data where it encounters the issue.

In addition, the Webmaster Tools also now display more backlinks data and made these data more interactive by allowing data filtering and data downloading.

These new features of the Live Search Webmaster Tools would put it at par with corresponding webmaster tools offered by both Google and Yahoo. It may be a bit late in coming but still a worthy addition to the Live Search Webmaster Tools’ functionality.

  1. Does this new Microsoft site report how many fake Live.com queries I get a day in the name of “cloaking” detection? All in legit websites that have unreadable logs because of their miserable referral spam?
