Buffer Launches ‘Daily’, An iOS App For Discovering And Sharing Content

Buffer, the makers of the popular social media scheduling tool of the same name, launched a new iOS app called Daily. When I got the email today with the announcement of their new app, the first thing that came to mind was that it’s like ‘social sharing meets Tinder.’

The funny thing is, that’s exactly how they describe it in their blog post announcing the new app:

If you’re not familiar with Tinder, here’s how the dating app works in a nutshell: The app shows you a profile, you swipe right for yes and left for no… We’ve found that the card-swiping, one-decision-at-a-time method is a fun (and slightly addictive!) way to consume content.

The whole user interface is based on swiping. The app presents you with content, categorized by topics, and you can either swipe right to add it to your Buffer queue or swipe left to indicate you’re not interested.

If you’re already familiar with using Buffer on desktop, you have probably come to know and love their daily content suggestions. Every day there’s a new selection of content (including articles, images, and quotes) that you can browse through and add to your queue.

The best part of Buffer’s daily suggestions is that they aren’t randomly selected by some algorithm, they are hand picked by real people, and there’s no sponsored content pieces or anything like that.

Suggested stories can’t be bought, and we don’t share based on obligation, contract, or affiliation. We simply locate the stories that we find most fascinating and drop them into the app for you to enjoy.

Until now, Buffer’s daily suggestions weren’t available on mobile, which is what makes today’s announcement even more intriguing. You can download Daily on your iOS device right here.

There was no mention about when, or if, Daily will be available on Android or other platforms.
