Today, Google announced an update to its Google My Business mobile app intended to to give more control to business owners on the go by allowing them to do things like respond to reviews, and view call analytics.
Previously, with the Google My Business app you could only perform rudimentary tasks like updating business information and posting to Google+.
The changes announced today make the app better for both business owners and customers. Business owners get notified immediately when a customer leaves a review, which means customers can (potentially) receive an immediate response and know they’re being listened to.
Business users have told us how much customers appreciate a response, so we are also making it possible to respond to Google reviews in the app, along with real-time alerts if you want to keep a pulse on your reputation online.
This also allows business owners to be more in tune with what customers are saying about them online. While you might not have time sit down and read your latest business reviews on a desktop or laptop, it might be more convenient for you to read push notifications on a smartphone.
Another new feature introduced to come along with this update are the ability to view Call Analytics from within Google My Business, this is a new feature to both the mobile and desktop versions of the service.
When people find you on Google, you can see when they call or from where they get driving directions, so you can be prepared for that next manic Monday rush.
According to Google, the updates to Google My Business are rolling out over the next few days. As is the case when Google updates one of their apps, Android users will be receiving it first, followed by iOS some time in the near future.
