Instagram‘s massive growth continues. The photo- and video-sharing network announced it has surged to 500 million active monthly users. Sixty percent of Instagram’s users, or an incredible 300 million people, now use the app every day.
That means Instagram has 2x more daily active users than Snapchat and Twitter (150 million and 136 million, respectively).
More than 80 percent of Instagram’s user base lives outside of the U.S., and they’ve seen strongest growth in countries like Japan, Germany, France, and Indonesia, according to TechCrunch. More than 95 million images and videos are shared every day, attracting 4.2 billion likes per day.
