Blinkx Launches Multimedia Search in China : CBlinkx.tv

Blinkx, which is probably the most innovative multimedia and video search online, is taking its search engine into China with Cblinkx.tv. The Chinese version of Blinkx.tv was launched on Tuesday in the land where Google, Yahoo, and eBay have been competing to get a piece of the Internet usage pie. China is second only to the United States in Internet usage and given its population and economic growth, is expected by some to overtake the US as the top Internet using country in the world.

ChinaKnowledge.com reports : Cblinkx.tv allows users to search for TV and radio news clips and video content on weblogs or blogs, and watch them online. The launch of Cblinkx.tv in China is a new development in the search engine market. Already, both search engine leaders Google Inc. and Yahoo! Inc. have started beta testing and developing technologies for searching video on the Internet.

In more Chinese Search Engine news, Shak at ChinaWhite.net reports that Search Engine Strategies is China bound : Search Engine Strategies aka SES have just announced their entry into the Chinese market with an event in Nanjing on 17th and 18th March 2006. I’m hoping that the hotel rooms in Nanjing are cheaper than the New York Hilton.
