The Search Marketing Jobs Board at Search Engine Journal has heated up this week with some rather high profile jobs at companies like IBM and Six Apart, with the IBM position that of a Social Media Marketing Manager.
With a national shortage in trained search marketing professionals, we expect the demand to fill search management positions to increasee dramatically over the next couple of years. And some of these positions below are very high profile and would take one’s resume and reputation over the top.

The Senior Search Engineer leads the technical aspects of Six Apart’s search efforts across all its product lines which include two of the most highly trafficked sites on the Internet.
- PeopleFinders : Search Marketing Manager : Peoplefinders.com, the premier online service for consumers to locate, contact and verify people and businesses, is seeking a Search Marketing Manager to manage its PPC marketing budget and campaigns. Over the past seven years the company has quietly become one of the largest owners of public records data in the country, distributing its products over a vast network of websites.

I’d like to find out who is selling the search packages that the search marketing pros are building.
After reading dozens of SEO/SEM websites, I see very little targeting of the small & medium size businesses. Many of the internet marketers seem to think these business people will contact them. I know these people, and they are too busy and not equipped to evaluate who to do business with. They need someone to call on them and give them the pitch in order to buy.

You should recheck the job boards. A lot more job openings now. Either this space is heating up or a lot of people just got fired :0
