How You Can Help Those Affected by Hurricane Sandy Now

It is obvious that millions of people are going to need as much help as we can give them by the time this hurricane is over. The best thing we can all do is start supporting the organizations that help victims right now! If you know of other ways we can help please tell us and we will add it to the page.

Give Blood

According to the Red Cross their blood drives in the areas staring down Sandy were cancelled and they depend on that blood for local patients. They will need even more due to the storm.

If you can give blood to your local blood bank, hospital or the Red Cross please know it will be needed. Contact info for the Red Cross – RedCrossBlood.org/ or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Donations

You can donate money to the Red Cross through their site or via text and you can also donate items through the National Donations Management Network.

Volunteer

Start Cooking

Many organizations are going to need food and support while they support victims of the storm. Cook some things now and bring them the food when the storm is over and it is safe.

The Coast Guard and National Guard will need as much support as they can get.

When The Storm Is Over

When the storm is over keep an eye out for trusted organizations and local religious institutions that will express needs and options to help.

I live in Florida so I know that things like lots of water, blankets and clothing will be needed. We can all help in some way. God bless those in Sandy’s path.
