Watch the Ball Drop Online: New Years 2010
It’s that time of the year again folks, time to not only ring in the New Year with a PageRank update, but also watch the ball drop tonight in New York. Times Square will once again be hosting the traditional midnight ball drop. Are you braving the cold weather and the madding crowd just to be where the action is? Or are you going to just watch it at home either on live TV telecast?
For those who are staying at home and prefer to watch the ball drop online or are currently in a location where you cannot watch the ball drop on television, here are some sites where you can watch the ball drop online for New Year’s Eve.
1. Earthcam’s News Year’s 2010
The site is currently counting down the remaining hours before the annual midnight ball drop. Check it out for streaming audio and video as captured by various webcams.
2. Times Square Official New Year’s Eve Worldwide Webcast
Where could you possibly best watch the ball drop online but on the official Times Square site for the event. The webcast will start as early as 5:50 PM on the 31st. Aside from watching the event on the site, you can also watch it on your iPhone, on Facebook or even embed a webcast widget on your blogs/sites.
Aside from the midnight ball drop, this site also has provides some other “shows” to usher in the new year. You can watch the show live here or at their YouTube channel.
4. Watch the Ball Drop on YouTube
Although the official YouTube netcast of the New Year’s Eve countdown is not yet announced, I’m pretty sure YouTube will come up with special channel for the midnight ball drop.to
