Hootsuite Raises $60 Million In New Funding, Acquires Zeetl To Integrate Voice Technology

Hootsuite announced today that the company has closed a US$60 million financing round, bringing Hootsuite’s total financing to-date to US$250 million.

Ryan Holmes, Hootsuite’s CEO, stated in a release:

This financing will help us scale even faster on a global level and bring the most innovative products to market. The strong commitment from investors during this time of amazing growth marks an exciting milestone for Hootsuite.

With this new funding Hootsuite explains that they will continue growing and expanding to meet the needs of their growing user base, now exceeding 10 million worldwide.

As an example of how they have been making their service more useful Hootsuite points out their recent acquisition of Brightkit, a company they acquired to help individuals and enterprises manage their social media campaigns.

Hootsuite will continue to add more functionality to their service as they have now acquired Zeetl. Zeetl is a social telephony company that will allow Hootsuite to integrate new voice technology into its platform.

The company explains that they’re planning on adding a new voice solution designed for customer service teams.

Holmes adds that the company is “expecting big things from the brilliant team at Zeetl and Brightkit and are looking forward to getting this technology into the hands of our customers.”

No details were provided on when we may expect to see this technology integrated in the Hootsuite platform.
