Google Local’s New Head is Real Estate and Newspaper Classified Expert
Peter Krasilovsky at Local Online has the scoop and background info on Sam Sebastian, the new Head of Google Local.
Peter notes that Sam’s experience in the newspaper classifieds and Real Estate portal world (Sam was a part of the Classified Ventures’ Homescape real estate vertical) may be a bridge builder with traditional print news media, then again – maybe not:
In the new position, Sebastian might build bridges to newspapers. But he also poses something of a threat, since he conceivably knows all the details of classified initiatives of all the Classified Ventures’ newspaper owners, which include Tribune, Knight Ridder, Gannett, McClatchy, Belo and The Washington Post Co.
