Did the Google PageRank Bunny visit your site over this past weekend to drop off a basket of juicy Google [Toolbar] PageRank goodness? Or did he raid your fridge and hop away with some of your site’s PageRank?
Over the weekend the first Google ‘Toolbar’ PageRank update of 2010 occurred which left some site owners quite happy, some a bit bewildered and did not affect many. Now, we should all be reminded that ‘Toolbar’ PageRank is different than Google PageRank because the PageRank displayed in the toolbar is not 100% reflective of the way Google judges the value of a website. A site without PageRank can still rank well in the Google index. A Site with a PageRank 2 can outrank a PageRank 8. Sometimes, Google will taketh PageRank away, but that will not result in your site ranking lower or less traffic.
It’s just one of many metrics that Google may use, and they seem to have a lot of fun sharing this Toolbar PageRank ‘snapshot’ with webmasters and bloggers, as a rise and drop in PageRank can lead to many new decisions by publishers and moreso, lead them to the temptation of monetizing that PageRank with paid links … a BIG NO NO according to Google Webmaster Guidelines.
So, that being said … I still know that PageRank is the center of the Google universe according to many webmasters and publishers AND although it’s just a “little green bar” … I’d like to know .. How did the 2010 Google PageRank Update affect your website?
When I heard that Google updated their page rank this weekend I visited the sites I monitor holding my breath. One moved up in page rank, one stayed the same. While it was nice to see some increased page rank, I know the SEO efforts don't stop at pagerank.
Seems to me that the people I have talked to, their sites PR has gone up. I know from my sites they have either gone up or stayed the same. I also have noticed that many of the interior pages are starting to gain PR as well.
Has anyone seen a decrease in PR on their site?
I can not say that is not happy to increase PR blog. It would not be true.
Yet it is one of the criteria for evaluation of your work – whether it be writing articles or Seo work.
Yes, I think just about everyone is happy to see an increase in PageRank, despite its effectiveness. It's what a large number of publishers and SEO's strive for. And that will not change until Google takes PageRank off their toolbar.
My page rank went up to 4 on both my home page and blog but what I find particularly interesting is that many of my internal non blog pages (15 to be exact) are showing a page rank of 3. Even my contact page is showing a PR 3. I only have about 20 normal web pages on my site so this is most of my internal non blog pages.
I'm not complaining or anything but I do find it interesting.
Wow! My blog about iPad News which is just two months old got a PR5. The problem is I don't know what I did to get that high PR. :-)

I was happy with the PR bunny visit as most all of our new websites created in the last 6 months starting with a PR of ZERO…… are now all blessed with a PR of 1 to 3 which isn't a bad start!
Although I'm constantly reminded of the many sites we have that do well in searches despite their 0 PR. Something to think about really.
Fortunately my blog got PR3 (from N/A) around two weeks, and there's no content in my blog :D
Ours dropped from a PR3 to a PR2. We actually added over 20 inbound links via press releases and blogs this month and our traffic has been up 35%. So the drop was an unpleasant surprise for me.
I crawled out of the shadows back to a PR3…I had an issue with my redirect after changing my parked-on domain to my primary which had me sandboxed at PR0 for some time.
Good news for me!
Does anyone know how often Google updates PR's? Once a year…. 3 times a year?
I started a new webcomic site about 3 months back and it finally got a page rank in the new update. It was a five which was more than I was expecting for a new site.
Not that it really matters much, traffic is still quite low and the phrase “google page rank” doesn't elicit any kind of excitement among my friends.
I was very pleased with the update. My site is fairly new, probably below average on content and has very little traffic, but I went from 0 to 2. A 2 may not be much, but considering I have not done any link building and was not expecting this, I am very happy.
My blog is about 25 days old. I did not receive anything on my homepage. But I was just browsing through my blog and discovered more than 3 pages with PR1 !!
Regarding page rank the reality is that many sites have got good PR, But rankings are not good as it should be.
1) PR that shows on toolbar is not real if u got PR5 its actually PR2
2) PR will be removed by google – no dates
Some blogs who have external links to there blog – PR is affected. Some twitter profiles have also been affected.
Websites have got good pr, but some of the blogs have gone down.
I got an easter egg and went from PR4 to PR5 :) Not that it has had any effect. But still. It is a matter of pride!! haha..
For site which I am working for past many days, http://www.yesiconfess.com the rank remains the unchanged, that is ZERO :( however recently i started to work on different website http://www.bookchums.com and it got page rank 1 :)

My most important client site moved up in toolbar PR, my own blog even got a bump, and secondary sites I've been working on all also got a boost. First time that's happened. Yet personally I don't base any tasking decisions on the toolbar PR – it's just a fun thing to look at a couple times a year.
2010 Google Toolbar PageRank Update….Yeah i know that update come, i feel happy because my website keywords ranking have improve now, but my website rank is still there, but it does not mean that i have lose PR or traffic, but it sustain at the same position.i try to do more work on my website to get high PR.

I'm certain I just read a couple months ago that Google was going to stop updating PageRank in Google toolbar. What gives? I think this spreads more confusion about SEO to beginners. My site moved from a 2 to a 4. Even though I tell photographers that PR is not something to pay attention to, why am I kind of a little bit excited for myself?
i got updated from a 3 – 4. its not much, but every little bit helps. its just a local website, so that is pretty decent.
Ha ha, so the Easter Bunny made us all happy? But the SEO efforts are not all seen through your PR, so it is not of such great importance I would say.

Hi! Recently, our website had got an update of PageRank. We are shocked of the update. As at before, we have an N/A PR as we are new, now, after the update, some of our pages, like the Homepage, which is very important becomes PR0!!
I had heard that PR0 is worst than PR N/A ? Is it correct?
Pls help ! We need to upgrade our PR!!
Moreover, our private link exchange page, dudeauto.sg/private.php, still has an PR of N/A like the other pages with no PR0.
