Google News is Cooking Up Something, it Better Be Good

The Google News Blog is reporting that something new is about to come up with Google News. The Google News Team is testing something and will be running a few magic tricks and the post even hinted about something related to “look and feel” of the Google News site. If you’re one of the few randomly selected readers, we’ll be glad to receive a tip off.

But definitely we are not one of these randomly selected testers. And we could only speculate on what this new features will be about based on two hints given Google.

  • look and feel of the site – this could probably a major site redesign, something that will be in tune with the signs of time.
  • based on evolving state of online journalism – could this be a more user-oriented news site? or perhaps an enhancement of the “comment feature” which it introduced not so long ago, but never seem to have gained some good grounds?

If you would recall, the last time Google did this kind of “testing post” was when it introduced some enhancements to its search engine. And it was a pretty big enhancement then.

Any guesses on what Google is doing to its News site? Feel free to leave a comment and let’s start playing a guessing game!

  1. I haven’t used Google News for some time, so I’m not sure if this is new:

There is a link: “Take the survey (New!)”. It’s missing on the German and U.K. Google News page.
