For some time now it has seemed to me that Google IS the Internet, and once the Internet is my life, Google IS my life.
Doesn’t it also look scary when Google goes offline and you start noticing its traces in real life?
OK, maybe this only scares me, for most people it should seem amusing, so let’s have some fun for a change:
Google Adwords
It’s kid of amusing to see Google ads on the wall:

I’d love to work in a room like this one – but probably instead of image search, I’d like my most successful general SERPs to be there:

Great post, Ann. That’s even more impressive than Google online, which is mind-boggling too. For a small example just check out Google street view of the street view where you live. That works even in Canada so I’m sure they have us all covered. :)
Really amazing :)
Thank you Ann for sharing these beautiful pics. I hope they are all real scenes !
Search Engine Photo Gallery would be a nice idea to publish similar amazing everyday life scenes ;)
If George Orwell was alive today, would he name his character Big Google instead of Big Brother?
Excellent selection! Especially liked the wallpaper from Google.
I love it. Great post and some very good food for thought. My favorites were the life-size Google map markers. Guess I need to get one for in front of my house or no one will be able to find me ;-) The “Google This” image had a rather pointed message also…
Pretty cool post :D Even though it’s really kinda strange when thinking to much about it. Like Google’s almost everywhere. Since having an Android phone I even carry google with me all the time – hmmm…but Google is not evil, as we all know ;-)
The second one was an exposition in Paris. I saw it, interessing idea but a bit small.
I, for one, welcome our new Mountain View-based overlords. (Do you think they’ll read this?)
