Yahoo Publisher Network to Distribute Yahoo Content Beyond Ads

Something that rang a bell during Search Views’ Erin Bradley’s 5 question interview of David Zito, Sr. Manager, Development for Yahoo! Publisher Network Online, is that Yahoo Publisher Network is not all about Yahoo Search Marketing. When asked about the Wall Street Journal story that mentioned Yahoo will be offering web publishers content and advertising, David Zito responded with the following.

“Yahoo! is the only portal that offers such a broad array of content like – shopping, travel, music, reviews, video feeds, etc. We are excited about the opportunity to offer publishers access to this type of content, which in turn will make for a more compelling user experience for their users.”

Seems that the Yahoo Search Marketing based aspect of Yahoo Publisher Network is just one key part of the plan which is an all around open content streaming publisher tool.
