Yahoo Annouces Free Site Submittal Service

March 4th, 2004 by Loren Baker, Editor | 7 Comments

Yahoo, on top of the search engine news mountain that avalanched this week, has just annouced a free submittal service into their Yahoo Search index. Yahoo´s new free submittal requires user regstration, but is a fresh of breath air to those who only thought that they would be included in the new Yahoo Search only if they paid for the Overture Site Match paid inclusion/pay-per-click service.

For more info on Yahoo Search, click the Yahoo key on the left side of the Search Engine Journal.

Here´s the scoop on what Yahoo Submittal offers:

Enter the full URL, including the http:// prefix (for example, http://www.yahoo.com) of the site you would like to submit. Enter only the top-level page in your site, our crawler will explore the rest of your site from there. We will automatically detect and remove dead links on an ongoing basis.

Please expect a delay of several weeks before your URL is crawled.

To submit your site to the Yahoo Search Index for free, visit Yahoo Search.
