Google AdWords Opens Bidding on Beer & Champagne

October 30th, 2008 by Loren Baker, Editor | 3 Comments

Time for Google AdWords to make it rain, AdWords advertisers are now allowed to bid on beer and champagne! Previously, the only alcoholic terms which could be bid on by sellers of the products were wine related terms.

Now, according to Gonzo SEO, Google has now opened up its alcohol restrictions.

“Beer, wine and champagne may now be promoted from ad text and may be the focus of your site. We consider beer, wine and champagne to be products intended for the sale and consumption of adults. Therefore, ads promoting beer, wine and champagne will be given a ‘Non-Family Safe’ status.

For information on how the family status of an ad may affect how it is served, please see Google Adwords Support.”

Google AdWords has not opened up for liquor however, keepingthese as restricted products.

Last week we saw Google UK open up to UK licensed online casino and gambling sites with gambling friendly advertising, are we seeing Google change their crisy clean stance for the almighty Benjamin or English Pound (or Amero?) … looks like that’s the case.
