On Monday, search engine Google added five new ways to find information on the Internet.

Google, which is on the verge of filing an IPO, said its new search function are short cuts to useful information such as area codes, Universal Product Codes (UPC), Vehicle ID (VIN) numbers, flight tracking information, and U.S. Postal Service tracking numbers.

The new features are the latest among many Google has developed including the desktop Google Deskbar and book text search.

Additionally, these additions and shortcuts give Google and its advertisers more of a chance to market their search engine advertising to consumers, travelers, online shoppers, and car buyers. This search engine advertising is done via the Google AdWords program.
