Vivisimo Expands Past Steeler Country and into France
Vivisimo who has positioned themselves as THE clustering search engine, today announced plans for the expansion of its Pittsburgh headquarters in a new location and for the establishment of a Paris office to help support the growing worldwide demand for the company’s award-winning products.
“Over the past twelve months, Vivisimo has emerged as a major player in the search arena with the introduction of Clusty for consumers and Velocity for enterprises,” said Raul Valdes-Perez, CEO and co-founder of Vivisimo, Inc. “The response to these offerings has been outstanding, resulting in a number of new customer wins, substantial revenue growth and increasing overall corporate visibility. Our expansion, in geographic locations and outstanding people, will help us capitalize on the company’s enormous market opportunity.”
Leading Vivisimo’s new Paris office will be Denis Harscoat, director of European sales. Harscoat brings nearly a decade of software-industry and business-development experience, including the building and managing of relationships with IBM, the European Parliament and the United Nations, to Vivisimo. He will help the company capitalize on a growing number of enterprise sales and business-development opportunities in the European market.

How many readers here have used Vivisimo, THE clustering search engine?
It’s actually quite popular, but I really don’t rank it that higher than old school Northern Light and its Little Blue Folders. Although, many think due to silly algorithms that clustering is one of the easiest ways to sort through SER clutter.
One of the best tools for NetSearcher indeed (vizualisation in context)
How does vivisimo do what it does without preprocessing? Its seems like an impossibility (unless I’ve read their algorithm details incorrectly). I find vivisimo and blinkx amazing tools and would love to know their inner workings better :)
