Microsoft Live Search Product Results Gets Better

Microsoft continues to bring in more features to its Live Search tool. The most recent of these features has something to do with product searches, specifically product category and specific product searches. 

The new product category searches now shows more information relating to the products as shown by the Live Search results. These include relevant product information such as average ratings and sale price, product images with link to MSN shopping to browse more products, and user reviews of the particular products.

For the specific product searches, the results now include a brief summary of what the product is all about. It also now includes a graphical representation of user ratings plus a link to relevant features and reviews of the product.

From the looks of it, the product search result is starting to look like more Amazon and other e-commerce sites. But you have to give it to Microsoft for giving it all out to improve its Live Search engine. And the entry of China-based search engine in the search engine analytics study by comScore for August, being dislodged by a regional based search engine is something that Microsoft really has to look into.

  1. hmm… product search seems near flawless but for everything else, Live Search still gets some random kinks. It’s not yet a competitor for Google but I think it’s getting there
