Google has updated their Google Toolbar Pagerank as of about 1 hour ago, marking a New Year’s Eve PageRank update which should have a whole lot of web publishers and bloggers discussing their changes in PageRank over the New Year holiday.
Search Engine Journal’s Google PageRank stayed the same at PR 6, but we noticed immediately that IMBroadcast.com/s Google Toolbar PageRank is now a PageRank 4 (up from a PR 0 since it’s a relatively new site).
Sure, the PageRank which is shown on the Google Toolbar is not an accurate indicator of how Gogole ranks or values a site, and is only on of many factors which goes into a live and real Google PageRank, but it’s still some sort of indicator, and will always be so while it’s still around.
Webmasters are weighing in already on the change via Twitter :
- @gyutae crap… google just updated PageRank… WinningtheWeb.com went down from a 4 to 3.. and lost site links
- @JustinLoans: Google Pagerank updated today!! Anybody went up? 3 out of 4 of my sites went up woohoo
- @dragonblogger: Just found out my Poetry Blog received a Google PageRank of 2 today. Ironic since it has 1/10th as much traffic as my other 2 blogs

Google updated the toolbar rank again.This time they filtered more back links. Previously i have around 70 now i have just 10 back links left for my site http://www.cybex.in. But site rank well on all top keywords.

Thanks for the info. Being a multi-Billion dollar corporation, I can’t understand why Google doesn’t update on a regular basis. Like, every quarter. Updates in three months, then 6 months, then two months, then 10 months is ridiculous!

Thanks for providing this updated information…yeah i saw a fabulous update from Google Page Rank. Many sites which have PR-3 now they are PR-4, I noticed the PR effects not only the smaller sites but also the giant sites…like wikipedia.com it is now PR-9. But I think thenutri.com is a new site which takes sometime to get some good Page Rank. what do you think?
Are they some official dates from Google aboout PR update?

I see claims that Google updated it’s PageRank on 12/31/2009 but I have not seen any changes to any of our clients’ sites. Has anyone else noticed this recent change?
