Social Media

INFOGRAPHIC: The State of Social Business

According to this new infographic from Brian Solis, the state of social business is a relatively positive one. Some of the key statistics include:

  • 78% of companies have a dedicated social media team, an increase of 11% since last year.
  • The average social media team is 15.6 people in 2013, an increase from 11 in 2010.
  • 48% said their company executives aren’t aligned with their social media strategy.
  • Just 17% of companies say their social media strategy is “mature.”

While it seems that the social media industry is continuing to grow, the last bullet identifies that companies know they still have a long way to go before they are able to identify their strategy as mature.

What do you think the future of social media for business will be?

  1. Thanks for sharing this, Kelsey! Very informative infographic.

Much like the focus on social media has increased in the past year, it’s also important to focus on mobile. If mobile is the future, it’s definitely going to be a smart investment to increase marketing efforts on that platform just like some businesses did with social media in general.
