New Updates for Google+ Rolling Out to All Users

If you haven’t yet had a chance to preview the redesigned version of Google+, rolled out back in November 2015, Google will be issuing automatic upgrades over the next few days. In addition to the redesign, some brand new features are being introduced along with it.

When leaving comments in Google+ you will now be able to include links and photos. With the introduction of approved posting, Community owners and moderators have control over who is able to post what. Speaking of Communities, ever since the new version of Google+ was launched in November there have been 1.6 million new daily Community joins.

Another new feature that’s coming is a notifications center, where users can view and manage their recent activity across the network. All of these features will be available on the web, iOS, and Android versions of Google+.

New Updates for Businesses

Businesses have been increasingly taking to Collections and Communities within Google+ as a way for employees to share ideas and discuss topics of interest. In an effort to better accomodate business users, Collections and Communities will become available to more organizations. Within the next few weeks, Google+ as a whole will become a core Google for Work service

Despite Google+ no longer being mandatory to access Google services, it’s clear that the company will continue to invest in and improve the service. For more information see Google’s official announcement.
