SEJ's Content Initiatives

Educational and Original Written Content

We publish 3-6 blog posts per day in these main topics: SEO, Search Engine News, Social Media, Entrepreneurship, WordPress, and Content Marketing. Besides our long, educational, and argumentative content from our valued expert contributors, we also have a regular news writer, Matt Southern, who covers breaking news in the marketing, search, PPC, and social media verticals.

We also occasionally syndicate great content from top content producers, including Buffer, Copyblogger, Yoast, Unbounce, and more.

White Papers, Guides, and E-Books

smmBesides our daily updates, we also create more in-depth content, including extensive guides on SEO and social media, which is also published as an e-book for Kindle on Amazon.

We also published a white paper, titled “What Works in Content Marketing”, which was released in October 2015.

In addition, we also did an annual e-book guide for Pubcon Las Vegas for 2014 2015, and 2016.

Marketing Nerds Podcast

We launched a weekly 15-20 minute podcast in fall of 2014, and have been steadily gaining listeners ever since. We have around 30k average regular unique downloads for our podcast. All episodes are available on iTunesStitcher, and Pocket Casts. Past guests include Eric EngePrashant Puri, Dan Fain, VP of Search Technology at eBay, Marcus Tober, and more.

Webinars: SEJ Marketing ThinkTank

SEM Marketing Think Tank

SEJ’s first webinar series launched in January 2015 with a private, invite-online webinar on managing the editorial process. We quickly filled all open spots, which lead us to begin offering sponsored webinars. These sponsored webinars will be intermingled with webinars from the SEJ team and well-known industry experts. Past topics have included the knowledge graph, site audits, and analytics.

WordPress Plugins

We launched our first plugin, LinkPatrol, in 2014. LinkPatrol is a WordPress plugin that helps you find, fix, and remove nefarious links on your website.

SEO Industry Newsletter

In addition to a private newsletter we publish monthly for our writers, we also publish a weekly newsletter that has over 35k subscribers, our best posts of the week, any upcoming events, and other SEJ insights.

SEJ Summit Search Conference and Other Events

After a successful event series in 2014 and 2015, we did three events in 2016. These took place in Santa Monica, CA; Chicago, IL; and New York City, NY. We are accepting sponsorships.

Along with our SEJ Summit events, we also occasionally host meet-ups, attend conferences, and sponsor other events in the marketing industry.

Event Coverage

Besides our own events, we often cover major industry events and conferences, such as SMX, South by Southwest Interactive, Pubcon, the European and US Search Awards, and more through video interviews, social media live updates, and written recaps.

We also offer sponsored event coverage, as well as sponsored video interviews with experts during events.
