Google Stooge Spying on Ask Jeeves

Google Stooge Spying on Ask Jeeves

The title is a bit misleading but just imagine the result you would get if you paid Mo Howard to get the goods on your competition via a little covert operations. The photo road trip taken by Matt Cutts on his trip to an Ask Jeeves office is probably the closest blog equivient of a Three Stooges classic. This time however, only one Stooge is behind the spycamera.

Matt took a trip to down to New Mexico and remembered that Ask Jeeves had a new office in the area. Matt decided to find the place and take some photos with his trusty camera phone.

What Matt innocently stumbled upon in the New Mexican desert (somewhere between Los Alamos and Roswell) is shocking search engine news which confirms a recent Ask Jeeves rumor [CORRECTION : The Ask Jeeves office was in Campbell, CA, but I think the references to the NM desert are funny, and this post is all about humor].

Barry Diller’s IAC has not only decided to rebrand Ask Jeeves into Ask.com by dropping the Butler this month (which will more than likely be announced at Search Engine Strategies) but in a move to further break the will of the elitist Butler – Jeeves has been demoted to the role of receptionist in the lonesome desert office.
