Google Rolls Out New Search History Feature

Google has just rolled the new search history feature for US Google users. Nothing big here, just a small enhancement but could be pretty useful as it will allow you to quickly get back to sites you’ve been to as well as see items you have starred from your Android phone, iPhone or desktop searches on Google.com.

To view your search history, just tap the history link located at the bottom of Google.com. You must also have enabled search history in your Google account. This will allow you to see a combination of all the searches you’ve done while you are signed-in to your account while searching on Google.com.

As you view your search history, you can distinguish which searches were made on which specific platforms by a phone icon for mobile searches and thumbnail images of website screenshot for searches you’ve made on your desktop or laptop.

The new search history page that you’d see whether on your desktop browser or mobile phone browser also contains starred items. Tap on this tab and you’ll see a list of search results that you’ve, well starred.

Of course you can always disable this search history feature and remove history items by simply tapping on the “edit” button located the top of the page and delete individual search queries. Or if you don’t like this feature at all and want to stop Google from recording your search history, simply select – “do not save searches”  under settings on the home screen and then select “save.”
