Google App for iOS Updated With Improved Voice Search, Forward Button, + More

Google’s flagship app for iOS has been updated with several key new features, one of which you won’t believe it didn’t have until now.

Google version 17.0 for iOS now has a forward button. That’s right, until now there has been no way to navigate forward after you had gone back a page or two. It’s puzzling why it took them so long to add a forward button, but at least it is here now.

The updated Google app also allow you to go back, way back, seven days back to be exact. You can now access the history of your searches and recent pages for up to seven days. Before this update you were only able to view your search history for up to 24 hours.

Google says the longer history of searches and recent pages was introduced based on user feedback. Your history can be viewed by tapping on the icon and the top right-hand corner of the home page. It can also be accessed to the right of the “G” button on the bottom of the screen.

Demonstrating that Google clearly values the importance of voice search, it has improved the voice search capabilities of its flagship app. Now it works better in noisy environments, which should help make the whole experience more efficient and user friendly.

As of now, this update is only available for iOS, including iPhones, iPads, and iPods.
