Take a Trip With Google Using Its New Travel App

Google is currently beta testing a new travel app, called Google Trips, which is designed to be a smart assistant for planning your vacations.

If you have used Google’s app Inbox before, you may be familiar with how it is able to create travel bundles that organize all your reservations and confirmations related to a specific trip. The new Google Trips app is said to do all of that and more.

Useful new features that Inbox doesn’t currently offer are the ability to add suggestions based on your interests, as well as store your travel data offline for even easier access.

Similar to Inbox, the information in Google Trips will be populated automatically by scanning through your email for travel-related correspondance. You’ll also have the ability to enter in trip information manually.

According to screenshots obtained by Androidworld, the app contains a dashboard of sorts featuring sections for past trips, upcoming trips, reservations, things to do, saved places, food & drink, and need to know. Suggestions are based on a combination of top tourist destinations, and what Google has learned about your own preferences.

Once you have decided where to go, you can also use the app to learn how to get around and navigate the locations you’re visiting using a variety of means.

The app is currently in testing for Android, with no specific release date mentioned other than its coming soon.
