October 23rd, 2006 by Loren Baker, Editor | 3 Comments

Consider it an online video version of American Idol, as Yahoo! Media is launching the Yahoo Talent Show to help build publicity for Yahoo Video.

“With the launch of this new contest, Yahoo! demonstrates our commitment to continue offering the most original, high-quality video content for our users”

Cristian Mezei reports at SEOpedia:

The Yahoo! Talent Show is a nationwide search to find the next great Internet celebrity. Residents of the 50 United States & District of Columbia who are over the age of 18 can participate. Simply upload a video that best highlights your skills and talent…whatever they may be.

How do you enter the Yahoo! Talent Show? Simply upload a video in the following formats: ASF, AVI, MOV, MPEG, QT, DV, or WMV. All contents of the video, including music, must be original. No use of copyrighted materials will be permitted. Also make sure that anyone you are featuring in your video has given you their permission to appear in your video. Your video must be no more than 10 minutes in total running time.

I would love $50,000 but it wont draw me to the site. I use the tube and motion for my videos right now. I dont have enough time for all these video sites..haha.
I wonder how many new people that will draw to them?

    I guess a few. :)

Yahoo’s not that popular at attracting people.

Maybe if they would’ve advertised this contest in Yahoo Messenger, the ideea would’ve been different.

Why do you have to be 18 to enter? Don’t teens or kids even younger have talent or know how to use the internet??
