As of Jan 2009 Yahoo certainly does return better results and also gives us small businesses better results in searches. Google tends to throw up just the big boys which is no help to us little guys trying to earn a living in the cut thoat world of hotel and travel affiliation.

I "discovered" Yahoo Search about a year ago and have been very happy using it as my go-to search engine ever since. Frankly, for 90+% of my searches the results are almost exactly the same. For some results, if my intent is somewhat different than the usual intent for that term, I do try the other engine and sometimes it gives a slightly different set of results. I suggest use them both, but definitely give Yahoo a shot. The Search Assist feature is cool and the integrated video is cool. Also, try "mets" (or some sports team with a game that day) or "bmw" or something to quickly get scores, pictures, etc.

The best search results + the best user experience + the user thinking to use the product in the first place = success

Good for Yahoo to work on #3

Well I find Yahoo! search much nicer to use and user friendly. It's improved massively over the past 2 years and I like it. My google use has been decreasing gradually. :)

Yahoo needs to find creative ways to increase there market share. Props to them for the effort, however I think they will have to put forth a lot more effort!
