Yahoo has made some changes to its index and crawler behavior with some updates to their ranking algorithm and crawler frequency.
Priyank Garg posts on the Yahoo Search Blog :
We’re reducing our crawling machines by a significant amount with this update, so you might have observed a significant reduction in crawl load from us along with fewer machine IP addresses hitting you over the last few days.
The new crawler continues to improve comprehensiveness and freshness of coverage while also enhancing crawl efficiency, which reduces spurious load on websites.

They made some changes alright cause now I am the 2nd page for keyword website design. Which should be quite higher, it is in Google anyways.

YAHOO reducing 212 pages of my blog, but yahoo’s indexed speed is very slow, frequently after two monthe still cann’t indexed 50 pages if it is a new site. But google is crawled efficiency, very fast to index.

Their crawlers already used to crawl less of new sites. Now they hav completely stopped. Yahoo is certainly not a webmaster friendly search engine. While google picks up a site in a week, yahoo takes around 3 to 6 months. Reminds you of primitive ages..
Loren what happened to the comments, they seem to be nofollowed!! Come on, Searchenginejournal is a people’s blog, please don’t make it a blog for machines.

Is there a layman explaination of this enhancement?

Is there a layman explaination of this enhancement? What impact should we see?

With yahoo, the impact really does not matter. The lousy engine hardly gives you any traffic. You got to be atleast 2 years old with loads of links to get picked actively and ranking in serps. Sucks!
