What a spin job - pathetic. Yahoo have behaved disgracefully, and have not only thrown that poor reporter to the wolves at the drop of a pin, but have refused to even assist him or his devastated family. I am ashamed to have a Yahoo email address. Think it's time to go Google.

Yahoo's excuse for giving the information about Shi Tao to the Chines authorities is lame and cannot be taken seriously. They should have objected to that "legal order" instead of complying right away. But China is a very big and therefore very interesting market for companies like Yahoo. It's obvious that money means more to Yahoo than human rights. I find this really disgusting. Besides, do they forget that essentially the internet is all about freedom of speech? If internet companies like Yahoo are going to appease governments of undemocratic countries, it will be the end of the internet in the long run. Stupid!
