Yahoo Earnings Boom on Search Engine Advertising

Search related and online advertising pushed Yahoo’s quarterly profit over the edge as it more than doubled. Overture search and context targeted advertising was the driving force behind this quarter’s Yahoo earnings.

Yahoo had a second-quarter net profit of $112.5 million, or 8 cents a share. Its year-ago profit was $50.8 million, or 4 cents a share.
