Yahoo Directory Links : Organic and No Redirects

Today I was listening to the Search Pulse on Webmaster Radio and Chris Boggs of Avenue A | Razorfish, who I’m meeting for a spring training baseball game tomorrow, mentioned that links in the Yahoo Directory do not use redirects or tracking code.

The links in the Yahoo Directory are clean and organic which fortifies Yahoo Directory listings and their importance to your search engine marketing.

Why? Since these links from the Yahoo Directory are natural links with no NoFollow and no Javascript, they are going to help your site with its SEO.

Sure, listing your site in the Yahoo Directory is valuable regardless, but if you have not listed your site in the Yahoo Directory – do it now!

  1. It has been like that for a while…

  2. Yeah Barry, I remembered them switching back and forth, but today served as a reminder. Thanks.

  3. If they weren’t “clean” I doubt people would be paying the $299 review fee for commercial sites. I can’t remember a time when the links weren’t set up this way. How long ago were the links not direct?

  4. I was debating whether I would add my site: http://www.Phonenumbers4u.co.uk to the Yahoo! Directory but your review along with many others has made me think that its certainly worth it. So thanks for you advise.

  5. Instead of spending the dollars on Yahoo Directory, i recommend getting listed in local directory sites instead. We do not get ourselves listed in Yahoo but we still get top page ranking for competitive keywords in each regional search engines.
