Windows Live Mail Has Four-Month Expiration Date
From Inside Microsoft, Windows Live mail accounts will have a four-month expiration date; meaning, if you go away for four months your account will automatically be deleted. Gmail has a nine month expiration date, which for me begs two questions: why can’t Microsoft mimic this, and how did such an awkwardly branded name as Windows Live get released out in the wild?

Actually, only your mail gets deleted. Your account sticks around a little longer, but you return to have lost all your email.
