Top Yahoo Searches of 2006 : Britney Spears Rules!

Earlier this week Yahoo released its top searches of 2006, including celeb search, news stories, celebrity babies, sports teams & politicians. Amazingly enough, the results do prove one solid point, Britney Spears is a publicity & buzz generation genius.

They’ve gone and packaged all of this fluffy info into an interactive Yahoo Buzz index experience which moves beyond search and into the social media fields of photos, videos and Yahoo Answers.

So, what were the top Yahoo searches for 2006?

1 Britney Spears
2 WWE
3 Shakira
4 Jessica Simpson
5 Paris Hilton
6 American Idol
7 Beyonce Knowles
8 Chris Brown
9 Pamela Anderson
10 Lindsay Lohan

  1. She’s up to something . There is no such thing as bad publicity.

  2. It just goes to show the state of our country where the list is full of nothing but hot chicks and guys who are beating each other with chairs.

Loren – this is not surprising. The top search last week on Perez Hilton’s blog- and the volume was off the charts- was all about Britney and various colorful ways of describing her privates. http://perez.searchles.com/search
