For a long time, I was thinking about getting SEOMoz’s keyword difficulty tool, that is until i read what you mentioned under point #2. Basically tools like SEOBook’s free firefox extension can tell me those exact same numbers. sure it does “add them up into a single score” but it’ll probably only take a minute you look at the top 20 sites and make an educated guess.
