Everybody always wants to find a sweet deal, something they can brag to their friends about when they tell them how much they’ve saved, where they found it, etc. It’s always a big boost to save money on something that you were going to buy anyway, right?
The new app called ItSpot is a location-based social media and networking tool that users use to find those sweet deals from their favorite stores. Right now, the app is only available with the Toronto location, but the developers are slowly working towards making it customized for other major cities in North America.
Having a location-based app tool is something that users will likely flock to since it saves them time and the inconvenience of finding those shopping spots on their own. So if social shopping is going to be such a good thing for the consumer, how are the retailers going to fare? Probably quite well! Once the app has a presence in most all of the major cities, retailers will start to vie for the consumer’s dollar and attention likely by offering more deals and specials targeted towards their mobile customers. It will surely take the guesswork out of where to shop if there are irresistible deals offered through the app.
The app downloads onto the iPhone and shoppers can find deals and coupons in major cities and share those same finds with their network of friends. They also get to see the reviews and opinions of their other shopper friends and view them in real time. This feature alone will probably be a huge selling point for mobile customers as well, since they often rely heavily on their customized network of friends.
ItSpot is cleverly developed, and if it is marketed right, promises to be one of the major go-to apps that users look to as they make their shopping choices.
