The Apple of my eye

In the last couple of years Apple computers have taken their TV commercials to the next level. They have used silhouettes and upbeat music to make people pumped about the iPod. They also used bits and pieces from Intel commercials to get people excited about the new Apple computers with Intel Inside. More recently, they have very entertaining “switch” commercials to get people to switch from PCs to MACs. Many other companies such as Pepsi, MasterCard and Verizon also have amusing commercials, but unlike them Apple has also brought their commercials online and put them on their website.
Apple commercials
With all the time, effort and money put into making commercials, why do advertising campaigns have to stop with offline mediums? With the number of broadband users increasing, why not let visitors on your website see your commercials online and also share and distribute them. Granted, if they are good, people will take your TV commercials, record them, and spread them on the web through sites like YouTube, Veoh and Revver, but by putting them on your website you can reach an even broader audience. By making it easy for people to obtain your commercials, more people are likely to watch them and talk about them which just helps spread your message even further. Other companies such as GoDaddy have done similar things with their Super Bowl commercials and more companies are likely to start doing this, simply because it is a relatively inexpensive and effective way to spread your message to the public.
