hi,
You might also check www.exalead.com : we released today a new feature allowing you to refine your search to keep only results coming from blogs (you can also refine on "forums" by the way, which is more unusual). Plus, this feature will soon improve to allow you to refine on precise time frames.

I'm looking forward to the day when Technorati doesn't mistake an article with references from a 2000 node link farm as popular. That's really the one thing that hurts its results compared to Google and other search engines.

Any comments on Ask's blog search engine? They can also filter by time period. I am comparing Bloglines with Google Reader's and it sure seems like Bloglines blows GR away in terms of blog search. I am pretty sure Google is going to come out with a blog search product that blows everyone else away in the not too distant future.

Oh yeah, are you going to join up with a newsreader ever, or do you think a search engine that also has a newsreader will want to buy you guys? Technorati seems like it is right on the precipice of becoming an actual newsreader.

Great post. I agree with Matt Cutts on his comments - different ways of thinking about search are going to produce different perceptions about quality, and more competition in the space is a good thing.

Thanks for your feedback on Technorati's search capabilities - we're constantly looking to find ways to make our engine faster, more complete, have better relevance, better precision, and in the end, give the user exactly what they want.
