Hi,

I think you're right and if this post would be read by some of the companies that are planning to get involve in social media marketing for their brand then your job would be much more easier. I also think that one of the problem resides in the fact that many companies see this kind of service like traditional marketing. Something like : I tell you what you need to know about my company, I pay you the money and you do what you need to do. They don't realize that they are the only one that really know their business and could answer to many trick questions.

Once again, great post.

I think that there is another problem when dealing with clients. It seems that when dealing with clients, as a new SMM, they don't take you seriously, and as such there is a major disconect when it comes to moving from head knowledge to implamentation. There main excuse, I don't have the time, or the cash. Any thoughts on this would help. Also, I think that another problem is price point, do they value what you are offering? I look forward to reading other people's in site.

Great post, Eric. I think interaction with your customers and even your dissatisfied customers is the best way of ensuring that you do the best job possible. If you want to make it right, then that's the biggest leverage you have in being open with the world.
