Search Engine Advertising Helped Drive Online Ad Spending to $7.3 Billion in 2003

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) have released the Internet Ad Revenue Report. Overall online advertising revenues rose almost twenty-one percent, ending 2003 at just under $7.3 billion.

Search engine advertising rose dramatically in 2003 and helped to push a blockbuster year in online advertising. According to the report, search advertising grew 35% in 2003, this includes contextually targeted search advertising.
