Ex-Microsoft employee and blogging rockstar Robert Scoble recently shared his views and experience with Microsoft’s Live.com Search saying that the improved interface and index is just as good as Google.

From Scobleizer:

Damn, I saw some people talking about how much better Microsoft’s Live Search was and I just tried a few searches and, indeed, it’s a lot better than it used to be. They’ve significantly closed the gap with Google.

How does it do on your favorite searches? I even picked out a random Windows API call and did a search on that. MSN used to always suck on those. But Live.com gets it right.

It’s also fast and the UI is nice. I think it matches Google all the way around on search.

Honest words from an honest man. In your opinion, is Live.com’s search up there with Google?

  • Agree.. It's about two weeks ago, I accidentally tried LIVE.com and surprisingly I can say the search results are excellent :)
As a programmer, I heavily rely on SearchEngine to find out the answer everytime I encountered problems. Google is best on it, but i think now Live.com is playing catch up..
I like the interface as well.. sweet..
  • Are we even classifying MS Search as a real search engine? I thought it only indexed blogspot blogs. You mean it spiders the whole web? Man I missed that press release.

    /end sarcasm

Now if only Live.com had enough search volume...

Yes indeed. I have noticed that myself over the past few weeks. Seen a few where Yahoo failed but MSN was spot on, even better than Google in this case. I like the interface and the speed as well.
