Hi, I am using firefox 3.5.7 but It doesn’t stop on the searched domain. How to stop it the searching process?

the only problem is that after 2 or 3 searches, google blocks you – it’s going on 30 minutes now, i don’t know for how long

Hey Ann,

I finally got it to work thanks to Shabu’s comment above. James had mentioned it too but it just didn’t sink in until now.

I was using Google’s search box on the webpage instead of the one in the Navigation Toolbar in the farthest most upper right hand corner. Just make sure you use the drop down menu and select Google before you start your search.

I could get it to work another way and that was to do an Advanced Search.

Try searching on Google from the search box in the top right of Firefox.

In my case I went to Google.co.uk and the box did not show. A search here seems to use a different URL format and thus didn’t trigger the script.

The search page URL has to be of the form “*google.*/search?” in order to trigger the script.

I could not get it to work either. The second box would not come up, even after restarting Firefox and verifying current version of Greasemonkey and disabling all other plugins (which I shouldn’t have to do).

I did, however, get it to work in Opera. I found the instructions here: http://www.ghacks.net/2008/08/10/greasemonkey-in-opera/

This is very useful and I think I’ve found a way to ensure you get the second box. It only comes on when you click the ‘Greasemonkey’ icon in the bottom right hand corner of the browser.
